- Kerry Kong
- I am a senior journalism student at Ohio University. I grew up in Hong Kong and lived in Seattle, WA for four years. I love traveling. I have visited several cities in Mainland China, Macau, Seoul in South Korea, Paris in France, some cities in Canada and the U.S. I am a student reporter at the University Communication and Marketing department. My goal is to become a travel journalist and make my own traveler Web site.
I do not think that this is necessarily a part of American culture, although in many places especially in the Southern part of the country men hold open doors for women and make other chilvarous gestures towards women. I would not be surprised if a man offered a woman a seat on a bus. However, I think that it is more common to offer seats to the elderly.
